This event was held in conjunction with SMPTE's Technology Committee Meetings. Its purpose was to share the current state and future developments of color management, which plays a crucial role in video production, with domestic video creators and to help them in their future work.
Part 1: ACES - History, Evolution, Practices
Raymond Yeung, who has been deeply involved in ACES since its inception and serves as SMPTE's Standards Vice President and Head of Content Standards at Amazon MGM Studios, took the stage. He delivered a compelling lecture providing detailed explanations from the initial concepts of ACES to its latest information and future directions, offering insights only an authority from its formative years could provide.

Part 2: Building, Verifying, and Implementing a Color Management Framework – From Spectrophotometry to ACES/OCIO and DevOps
Tomo Hasegawa, our Color Imaging Engineer, presented. He thoroughly explained the construction of a color management framework, drawing upon our company's long-standing expertise in color technology. He also provided practical examples, such as our color management service "Colette" and the simultaneous production of HDR/SDR for 2D animation. He also touched upon the latest standard, ACES 2.0, making for a highly technical and practical presentation.

Nearly 60 attendees involved in animation and video production attended the event. In particular, ACES 2.0 was a common topic in both lectures, and the sight of many participants taking notes and nodding indicated their high interest in the latest technology.
We will continue to lead advancements in video technology and contribute to the industry's development through our "Color by IMAGICA" initiative.
